There is no right age for this. However, if the hair is gray, it is not treatable. The most important aspect of LHR is that the operator use the proper laser and settings to produce a safe and effective treatment. Completely hairless is not possible, but reduction of the hair by about 85% is what can be achieved. Also touch ups are needed. Hair that is thin and on the face, arms and neck is difficult to treat in females. Dark hair with light skin is the ideal situation.
Great question. Due to hormone shift in our bodies, we always recommend waiting until you're at least 18 years old to seek treatment. From there, here are key things to keep in mind:There are various wavelengths of lasers and you should choose a clinic that has the appropriate wavelength for your skin type (how light or dark your skin is).Not all treatments are created equal and that's why I'd advise that you choose a doctor supervised clinic with a LOT of experience. Experience is key so that your technician can adjust laser spot sizes, energy/ fluence settings, etc. to get you the best results. Most people, with a good tech and the appropriate laser, require 6-8 treatments. From there, because we all have varying genes and hormones, you may never have to shave again OR you may need to get touch-up treatments here and there. Nobody can predict this 100% for you, so ask about the cost of treatments over the long run should you require touch-ups.Ok... hopefully you have the foundation of knowledge you were looking for!
