My voice sounds very nasal one week after septoplasty. Is this normal? When will it go away?

I had septoplasty surgery exactly 7 days ago. I sound VERY nasal. Is this normal? When does this go away? Will my sense of smell and taste return fully?

This week probably felt like the worst cold of your life. Your nose is plugged and nasal, your ears may be popping, and you have an annoying post-nasal drip. These are all normal feelings during recovery from nasal surgery. Smell and taste will start improving soon and will become normal over the next month or so. You may also feel that your front upper four teeth are numb or painful and the roof of your mouth may feel like it is a little burned. Also normal things that will get better in several weeks.
