Tummy Tuck and Laparoscopic Surgery for Hysterectomy? (photo)

My tubes are tied, and my doctor and I decided that a partial hysterectomy is ideal due to treat a uterine fibroid. I had a revised tummy tuck in October of 2010 with a high belly button placement and heavy stitches below my belly button to my incision line, which is very high as well. Can my tummy tuck be affected? I see that a laparoscopic hysterectomy uses the belly button as a port entrance. I'm afraid I have too much scar tissue there as well as the concern of affecting the stitches.

I suggest you see your surgeon again to discuss this issue. It is unusual and may resolve with time, but it's better to see your surgeon just in case.

Pain from liposuction following a  tummy tuck is minimal in most especially if in the first year where you expect some numbness still to be present in the area. I generally perform revisions like you describe in the office with local anesthesia and oral sedation if needed.

Unfortunately, insurance does not cover a tummy tuck. Occasionally with documentation of recurrent infection they will pay for a panniculectomy (simply removing loose skin).#tt#tummytuck
