How can I recover from this chemical peel burn on feet and hands? (Photo)

Hi, I've used some products that were very strong containing both glycolic and lactic acid to get rid of unevenness and bad discolorations on my feet, legs, arms and hands. I peeled for a while and now this is what happened after the peel . I turned burned and 300% times darker . Help please

There are a few ways to go about it and it really depends on the look of your skin.You can try glycolic pads at home, nightly.  As well as urea cream 40% in the morning.

Thank you for your question. Chemical peels, when performed correctly, can be a very good treatment. I would strongly advise consulting with a Board Certified Plastics Surgeons office before attempting any at home treatment.

Salicylic acid peels with PRP would be helpful in this situation, but an in person consultation is needed.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Do not do peels at home!  Please see a well trained cosmetic dermatologist to get you on the appropriate skin care to prevent hyperpigmentation long term.  Best, Dr. Emer.

If your no longer peeling from the chemical peel, shaving is fine now. I would wait at least two weeks to wax, the chemical peel can thin your skin. Thank you for your question.Kate Ross, MD
