After Invisalign, I had minor rotations in the front and a short left lateral. My orthodontist recommended finishing in braces, and we disagreed on the placement of my central incisors. I wanted the right tipped towards the midline, and the left extruded. Instead of moving my teeth, my ortho removed the braces and contoured my teeth (without telling me or gaining consent). I I hate the results! My teeth are too rounded, don’t have symmetry, and feel too short. What would you recommend?
Answer: Good To Great Smile You seem to have a very aesthetic eye and know exactly what you are looking for. Though your teeth are very nice, if there are things that you want to correct it can certainly be done. There are a couple of options. 1. Simple recontouring of the teeth to see if you could achieve the result that you are looking for. 2. Porcelain veneers for the upper teeth after a wax up model is completed to the desired length and width for you to see. Only after you see this, would I move forward with the veneers. You would be a beautiful case, but careful planning is a must for success here. With the help of an experienced cosmetic dentist I am sure you will be happy in the end. Best of luck to you.

Answer: Limited Gum Contouring/ Gum Lift I do not believe your smile will ever look symmetrical unless you do a very simple Gum contouring "Gingivoplasty" on teeth 7 and 8.I think this is where you should start, then contouring of the enamel of other restorative procedures can be considered.

Answer: Longer teeth Hi, It appears that the proportions of the teeth are adequate (length/width) as well as the incisal plane of the teeth (follow your smile line). Is your main concern the "Gummy Smile". Pictures of your smile at rest (repose) would be helpful here as I think that the issue is a hypermobile lip perhaps. BOTOX and/or some minor surgical procedures can help if this is the case.

Answer: Bonding, Veneers or recountouring Hi:I would start with recountouring since that is the most conservative procedure. If you are still unhappy then I recommend Porcelain veneers since bonding at the edge of the tooth can chip and discolor easily.Best,Dr. Maddahi

Answer: Tooth Perfect The quest for the perfect smile and tooth shape can be difficult as the dentist and patient may have two different ideas of ideal. Definitely should have a restorative dentist work with you on the final result and communicate with them what you would like. Expect them to take models, photographs and offer temporary mock ups in filling material and possibly wax on models as this needs a little more expertise. Do not rush into veneers or crowns just yet. Take time to find the smile you want with reversible dental techniques then look at your options to make it a long lasting result! Please post pics of any treatment later, good luck.
