V Beam in 2 weeks for a very small, pink scar near mouth that is about 2 months old. When should I expect results from V Beam?

Can I expect quick results from 1 treatment since the area is so small/ light pink? Do I have to use a high setting to see quick results even though the spot is so small? Thank you!

Vbeam laser is an excellent modality for patients who have rosacea, blushing of the skin, facial and body telangiectasia, spider veins, redness, post surgical redness, and skin flushing. It is a safe procedure that can be used at varying depths to help treat micro blood vessels in the skin. We also use it in our office for facial skin inflammation, keloids, and hypertrophic scarring. It is an important part of scar therapy. Vbeam can be combined with chemical peels and other lasers, but experience with the treatment is essential. The Vbeam laser does not affect deeper tissue. Schedule a consultation with an expert in Vbeam and you will find it to be an excellent modality for many skin types.

It typically takes 2-3 treatments to see improvement. I recommend 3-4 week interval to see the results of Vbeam for redness. A combination approach would give the most improvement. This can be improved with a combination of subcision for blending with lasers (ProYellow, Excel V, VBeam), microneedling/prp, skin lightening, peels, and skin care. Sun protection is essential. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a scarring expert. Best, Dr. Emer

I would entrust the parameters of your treatment to your laser surgeon.  Although one treatment is a great start with the pulsed dye laser, it may be that you will require multiple treatments and results are gradual.  I bring my patients back every 4 weeks and by each visit, there is a notable decrease in the redness.  Best of luck!
