Is this scar tissue? What can be done? (Photo)

Question

Had sculptra to temple", but i believe it was placed in my eye and has formed scar tissue?? It itches and seems to not move correctly ... unfortunate my doctor where i had the sculptra done refused to acknowledge. I have seen an eye surgeon and am planning an upper lid surgery to improve eye but now thinking I have scar tissue as well. Any ideas on if this is scar and what can be done? I will be asking my eye surgeon as well. Thanks. Just really want to fix this and move on.

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started.

Thank you for sharing your experience. What you are describing could represent scar tissue, a localized nodule, or even residual Sculptra product that has triggered an inflammatory or fibrotic response in the treated area. These issues can sometimes occur if filler migrates, is placed superficially, or stimulates excess collagen in unintended areas.

Treatment options depend on the exact cause. If it is scar tissue or a nodule, management may include intralesional steroid injections, 5-FU, needling, or other interventions aimed at softening or breaking down the fibrosis. In certain cases, surgical excision may also be considered. Since you are already planning an eyelid procedure, your surgeon may be able to evaluate whether addressing the tissue at the same time is appropriate.

Itching and abnormal movement suggest some degree of tissue change, but a direct exam is necessary to confirm whether this is scar tissue, granuloma formation, or another issue related to the Sculptra. Discussing these findings with your oculoplastic surgeon will be an important next step so that the best tailored approach can be planned.
