Dead skin peeling in shower on third day after microneedling. Is this normal?

I was taking a warm shower on the third day after my getting microneedling done. I was gently massaging my face during the shower to remove excess soap and my skin started to peel off. Now I am aware that skin normally does peel after microneedling, but is it normal for it to peel during a warm shower? Will this affect the end result because the skin peeled off in the shower? Will micro scabs formed leave a scar on your face if peeled off?

No worries! Peeling can happen 3-4 days post micro needling. The warm water just softened up the micro scabs and caused them to fall off. Not all patients "peel", and it will not affect your outcome. Just make sure and keep your skin well protect with a good medical grade sunscreen to prevent hyper pigmentation.

It is typical to have some peeling 3 or so days after the procedure. The warm water from the shower likely softened the skin and allowed it to slough off along with the friction from the circular motion of washing your face. Be sure to follow a proper skin care regimen with sun protection for best results.
