Have I messed up my eyelids too much for double eyelid surgery to work? What procedure would likely suit me? (photos)

Question

I use eyelid tape at night, remove it in the morning, and results can last a day. If I sleep without tape, it reverts to a lower crease. I think the weight of the tape and higher artificial crease has caused a wrinkle/second crease (as pictured). Sometimes the eyelid "collapses" and the wrinkle becomes my primary crease, causing me to look monolidded again. Would removing skin from my eyelids fix the "collapsing" problem? Can I continue wearing tape until I can get surgery later this year?

Your last picture of the eyes with satisfactory bilateral crease formation from use of over-night tape actually shows that you should have predictably, a very good result from your surgery, due to favorable anatomy.  Constant use of the tape can cause local skin irritation for some patients resulting in multiple creases but a sound surgical technique should yield nice and natural crease formation similar to as shown on your last picture. You did not ruin your eyes from the use of tapes and you can continue using the tape till you are ready to undergo the surgery. Good Luck with your surgery.

hi,
based on your pictures, you can continue wearing the tapes until you have your surgery and will not affect the outcome.  it doesn't appear that you have excess skin so if you desire that fold with the tape, no skin excision is needed.  hope this helps.

I'd suggest a partial or possible full incision anchoring technique for your asian eyelid surgery AND keep it very natural the way it appears in the last photo because that suits your face and looks quite pretty.Healing can vary but suture removal is around a week.  DST or suture technique MIGHT be an option for you but it tends to be less reliable over time and less precise than incision techniques.Chase Lay MDAsian eyelid surgery expert
