So far, I have had 2 treatments of CO2 Laser done on my hands for crepey skin. However, there is only a very slight improvement. I would like to know how to improve my hands with another type of treatment. Is an ablative dermabrasion (the kind that scabs) ok to do on the hands. I keep getting that an ablative procedure on the hands is a problem. (If I were to get fat injections first, would that make it safer?) I would like to know your opinion. Thank you!!
Answer: Crepey hands Hello ! Fat transfer or filler injections can help. Based on my experience, adding fullness can improve the appearance of "crepey" skin. Some semi permanent (10 years or more) fillers are available. It can be done in conjunction with CO2 laser. Dermabrasion can cause some side effects (like change in skin color or scarring if not performed correctly) and is not for everyone. I would suggest addressing your question in a face-to-face consultation where you can communicate your objectives and expectations for the procedure, and undergo a physical assessment to determine its suitability. To ensure a comfortable experience, it's advisable to locate a board-certified or board-eligible plastic surgeon who is compatible with your preferences. During your consultation, make sure you receive satisfactory answers to all your queries and have the opportunity to review before and after images of comparable patients who have received the same treatment. Best of luck !

Answer: Recommend doing Clear & brilliant as a less invasive option. A more invasive option would be doing dermabrasion Our office has many different treatments for scars depending on the depth of atrophy or hypertrophy. Scars require a combination approach using our HI DEF protocol which uses a combination of lasers, topical scar modulation, and RF treatments to pixelate scars, improve contour, reduce hyperpigmentation, and improve the visibility of the scars so that they are no longer visible in ambient light. Everyone has a unique pattern of scarring and we employ our HIDEF technique to improve texture, color, contour, and topography. We often use a combination of treatments that begin with a careful examination to examine the micro texturing of the acne scars. Atrophic scars and indented scars can benefit from injectable fillers such as Radiesse, Sculptra, and Restylane with or without subcision to remove tethered scars and atrophic depression. Hyper-redness in scars can be improved with V beam laser, Excel V, BBL, IPL, and Venus RF to improve the redness and reduce the visibility of deep scars. Fractional Thulium laser and clear & brilliant can also reduce the inflammation and redness of the scar when combined with topical therapy. Fractional lasers such as Fraxel, erbium, and CO2 laser can be combined with radio frequency and also fractional RF to improve textual issues and microtopography. Subcision and TCA cross are also used for deep ice pick scars and narrow valley scars in order to improve the micro texture. Above all, our combination approach with our clinical nurses and board-certified plastic surgeons can improve the quality of your skin by using at home Melarase creams combined with PRP treatments in our office to improve your skin quality and tone. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an experienced team of experts in order to reduce your scarring. Finally, hyperpigmentation of scars can be improved with at-home Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads to help reduce active PIH and melanin deposition. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Crepey hands Thank you for your question! It is difficult to say without examining you. There are several treatments that can help improve the appearance of your hands and I tailor the approach to each individual patient. Thermage® is a non-invasive procedure that uses radiofrequency (RF) to help smoothen, tighten and contour the skin with no downtime. I often combine this with skin treatments to improve the overall quality of the skin and/or fat or filler if more fullness is needed. I recommend you speak with a fully trained plastic surgeon because results can be variable depending on who is performing these procedures.

Answer: Thermage for hands Thank you for the question! Thermage® is a non-invasive procedure that uses radiofrequency (RF) to help smoothen, tighten and contour the skin with no downtime. This can be done directly on the back of the hands and you could even come in during your lunch break and return to work after! I will also often combine these treatments with a combination of laser skin treatments to improve the overall quality of the skin and/or fat or filler if more fullness is needed. I would need to examine you to best answer your question, as I tailor the approach to each patient. I recommend you speak with a board-certified plastic surgeon because results can be variable depending on who is performing these procedures.
