Does collagen formed from lip fillers go away?

Question

I was injected with 1mL of Versa in my lips 7 months ago and they haven’t dissolved very much yet. If collagen is produced as a result of the Versa filler, will the collagen eventually go away and how long will this take? I really want to return to baseline without dissolver. Also, will 1mL cause even the slightest of stretching or change to my original lip once it dissolves?

Hi there! If it's been 7 months, the filler may need a bit more time to go away. Some collagen and deep scar tissue can develop, but it usually isn't significant long term in my experience. It may take toward 1 year for the filler to be completely gone. With 1 cc of filler, we would expect the lips to return to a similar size and shape as before filler. Hope this helps!

Hi and welcome to our forum!Versa is a hyaluronic acid product. The rate of resorption of the material varies from individual to individual. Some people will require more frequent injections, but the average longevity is ~ 9 months for the first injection, with a touch up every 12-18 months for maintenance`.
