Is it possible for a dental crown on a molar to be too tight in it's fit?

That is how mine feels. I had a crown put on 2 tooth and it feels tight fitting, like it is putting too much pressure on the circumference of the tooth. is this possible?

It is possible for a crown to be tight. This is caused by the lab made crown being slightly wider than the actual space between the teeth next to the crown space. The tightness should be tested by the Dr on crown insertion.  The tightness can be relieved by the Dr prior to crown cementation.

Hi:The best way to evaluate the tightness of a crown is to check with a floss.  If you can floss in between the crowns readily then the crowns are not tight if you can not get a floss to go through then the crowns are tight.  You should definitely let your dentist know how you feel.Best,Dr. Maddahi
