I'm 14 months postpartum and I'd like to get CoolSculpting is it safe
Answer: CoolSculpting Is Not Recommended While Breastfeeding! Hello, thank you for your question. CoolSculpting is not recommended while breastfeeding. Due to hormonal changes during pregnancy and postpartum, it is suggested to wait a minimum of 6 months after giving birth to receive this treatment. This will allow for better results following CoolSculpting treatment. If you are currently 14 months postpartum and no longer breastfeeding, CoolSculpting may be a recommended treatment for you. All the best!

Answer: CoolSculpting and breastfeeding Hi, thanks for your question. CoolSculpting is a non-invasive procedure that should not have an affect on breastfeeding, but there is not enough evidence out there as to the correlation between the two. As always I recommend that you have an in person consultation with a CoolSculpting provider at a certified CoolSculpting clinic in order to discuss all of your concerns. Some providers may prefer to err on the side of caution and wait to perform CoolSculpting until after you are finished breastfeeding.

Answer: Yes CoolSculpting is completely non invasive and doesn't require any kind of injection. You can breastfeed after CoolSculpting without any issues. If you are concerned, be sure to confirm with the doctor administering the treatment for you before you get it done.

Answer: CoolSculpting while breastfeeding Hello Humerous! There is no physiologic reason that CoolSculpting would affect your breast milk. During the procedure the fat cells in the treated area(s) are brought close to but still above the temperature at which fat freezes, and because of this cold injury they enter apoptosis and slowly due over a period of months.. The cellular debris including fat in the cells are taken away by macrophages in lymphatics which then dump the fat into your gut for digestion and elimination. There is absolutely no increase in the levels of lipids in your blood at any time during this process and therefore there should be no changes in the composition of your breast milk. In any case, your breast glands know how much lipid should be in your breast milk and that does not change. I cannot imagine a problem for you to have this procedure while breastfeeding. All the best, Sheryl Clark MD FAAD

Answer: Probably safe but… Although it is likely safe, no one should offer it in our highly litiginous society. CoolSculpting causes fat to break down and it gets broken down by the body and theoretically can go in the breast milk and may affect the baby. I am certain if the child had anything in the future that was a problem some lawyer would point to you getting CoolSculpting while breastfeeding as the cause
