My dentist told me that my wisdom tooth is pushing the rest of my teeth and that I prob need an extraction at some point. Right now as I'm typing, it really feels as the crown cap is just plain pulling that tooth up because of how attached it is. Could this be possible?

No, It is Very Unlikely that it has something to do, normally a prepare tooth is kind of clean, never completely free of bacteria (as you know it habitats the mouth) but normally not to cause this type of infection.
