I got Botox for the first time back in 2020. Had decent results and went back a second time. I researched the aesthetician that does my face so I didn’t just go to anyone. I have very hooded eyelids and therefore she doesn’t want to put much if any Botox bec I was told it would make my eye lids worse. However upon doing my “11” lines I developed these 2 new lines over my brow. Can filler be used to reduce the appearance of lines?
Answer: Forehead Lines / Wrinkles -- Neuromodulators (Botox/Dysport/Xeomin/Jeuveau), Fillers (Belotero) + Lasers/Microneedling/PRP Neuromodulators (such as Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Jeuveau) and soft tissue fillers like Belotero can improve the appearance of the forehead by reducing lines, wrinkles and folds. Deeper lines and wrinkles need a combination approach with Botox, fillers, lasers, and microneedling/PRP. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to develop a treatment plan that works for you. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Forehead lines Filler is not typically used for the forehead. Botox would be indicated to reduce the forehead lines. You could also consider Morpheus8. These treatments combine RF technology and microneedling to improve overall skin tone and texture. See an expert injector to learn more.

Answer: Botox/Fillers for Forehead Lines After wrinkle relaxers, all patients should avoid laying down flat on their faces for a day. Doing so could result in BOTOX injections migrating into the wrong areas, creating an unattractive or unnatural look. You should also avoid pressing on the treatment areas with your hands. In general, Botox lasts 3-4 months. There will certainly be patients in which it lasts longer, in that 4-6 month range, or shorter, in that 2-month range. It is also common for first-timers to notice that it may not last as long initially but may last longer after the second treatment. Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Restylane and Juvéderm are some of the most popular injectable dermal fillers for erasing moderate and severe lines on the forehead. Synthetic dermal filler products like Radiesse and Bellafill can also be considered for deep frown lines and forehead furrows.

Answer: Botox Is For Treating Dynamic (Movement-Related) Wrinkles; Fillers For Static (At Rest) Wrinkles The short answer to your question is "Yes," static wrinkle lines on the forehead can be elevated and smoothed with fillers and are frequently treated in this fashion by experienced filler injectors. Well over 90% of all nonsurgical aesthetic procedures, such as Botox and filler injections, were developed by board certified cosmetic dermatologists who later taught these techniques to other so-called "core" aesthetic physicians, such as plastic surgeons, ophthalmic and ENT plastic surgeons, etc. So, these days you have your choice of board certified physicians to seek out who have the necessary experience to more safely and successfully inject static forehead wrinkles, such as those seen in the photos. Going forward, you would be wise to seek out appropriate, board certified cosmetic physicians.

Answer: When using filler for horizontal forehead lines, the filler product may become visible. For reasons not clear to me, horizontal wrinkles tend to be poorly suited for fillers compared to vertical or radial wrinkles. When treating wrinkles in the upper 1/3 of the face that are dynamic, neurotoxins reign supreme. Hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph
