Can filler make my cheeks look chiseled or will I look heavier?

Volumetric fillers like Voluma and Perlane are designed to be injected in the cheek area to help augment and shape this area. They are thicker hyaluronic acid gel fillers likened to Restylane and Juvederm, but are longer lasting and designed to be injected deeper in the face. With proper placement they can elevate the cheek bone appearance. It is possible in the hands of an expert cosmetic doctor, that dermal fillers can be placed in strategic ‘lift’ points of the face. These will support and beautify the face rather than over-volumising. For example, the more sophisticated way we now treat nasolabial lines is to place filler high up, across the cheek bone (deep in the skin) to add lift. It then softens the nose-to-mouth lines in a more pleasing way.
To avoid looking overfilled or heavy in the cheek area I would consult an expert to assess your face and who will show you what the likely cosmetic outcome would be. I would always recommend FDA-cleared biodegradable fillers such as Juvederm or Restylane – these are made up of clear hyaluronic acid gels which closely mimic the natural hyaluronic acid in our skin. I think the so called liquid facelift can be very successful if done right. You need to be seen to answer your question correctly.

Photos would probably help, but the general answer is yes - fillers can be used in the cheeks to 'lift' the MIDFACE. You can add filler along the mandible in some cases to make it more chiseled, but usually the filler in the cheek bone area will only improve that area.
