I have my reduction surgery scheduled the exact same day my period is going to arrive! Is it even possibly to do? The second (worst) day of my period will be the day I am supposed to do nothing but recover which I won't be able to do while going to the bathroom (on pain killers) to change tampons and clean myself down there?

When considering a breast reduction it is best if you reach your target weight prior to surgery to give your surgeon the chance to optimize your results. If you gain or lose significant weight in the future your results could be impacted. Small weight fluctuations should not cause much change.
With the picture provided, I would not see a need for a free nipple graft. I would want to wait a nice amount of time to decrease risk of complications to keep that nipple as happy as possible.
