Hi, i'm having surgery in a week and i'm kind of nervous, since my doctor first suggested a motiva round MINI implant 220 cc (I want a very small and natural look) but after measuring me again she suggested now we go for a DEMI round implant of about 200-230 cc, is there a lot of difference between these? I want the most natural result i can get. Also would ergonomix be a better option?
Answer: Implant type and size Dear Terrific273950, breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals. Answer: Projection is the diference... Thanks for your question Terrific273950, There is a difference in the maximum point of projection (but is a small diference with that volume)For example, a mini 205 CC., has a maximum projection point of 2.6 cm, and a demi 205 CC., has a maximum projection point of 3.5 cm. The difference is 0.9 cmAs for the full 205 CC., the maximum point of projection is 3.9 cm. The difference between demi is 0.4 cm Projection is a measure we use to move the tissue to the front area of your breast, that can make in some cases a breast more noticeable. if you are thin a pinch test should be performed and if is less than 2 cm, I recommend a breast augmentation under the muscle. As you can see a breast augmentation procedure is more than just placing an implant, but don't be afraid, consult a Board-certified plastic surgeon so you can make the best decision for your body.
