How much out of pocket does generic retain A (tretinoin) cost?

Hello. I'm 46 years old and got a prescription for generic retain A. I knew that after a certain age insurance doesn't cover it but I was shocked when the pharmacist said it would cost a couple of hundred bucks!?!? is it possible that the prescription was written wrong or is it really that much out of pocket?

Hi & thank you for your question.Retin A pricing will vary from state to state. Medical practices may vary as well. I believe you can buy the generic Retin A for under $100.00. Do some research to find the best price.Good luck!

It really depends on where you are.  What I mean by that is that many physician offices are able to carry Retin-A at greatly reduced cost over pharmacies.  You should call around to see if any dermatologists in your area do that.   We had a store until a year ago and sold Retin-A for well under a hundred dollars per tube.
