Will Tretinoin .025 Cream take longer than 3 months to work?

Question

I have been using tretinoin .025 cream for about 13 weeks now and am experiencing a bad breakout on my chin and lower cheeks. I go through phases where my skin is completely clear for about a week and then end up breaking out again. Is it typical to still have a breakout so far in or should I consult my doctor for a different approach?

It takes 3-6 months to see tretinoin results, I have been using it for years and its part of my treatment for best skin.  Dr. Emer.

There isn't typically one specific cause for acne.  If you have been using Tretinoin .025% for for a little over three months you such consider adding another anti-acne prescription medication.
