How to remove darkness from nose? (Photo)

I met with an accident 2 weeks back. 2 stitches and scrapes are there on nose doctor has adviced silicon gel but not sure that the darkness will go completely or not. This there any solution for this.

This looks like post‑inflammatory hyperpigmentation from the injury. Silicone gel is helpful for scar healing, but it doesn’t do much for dark discoloration. The darkness usually fades gradually over a few months, especially if you protect the area from sun.

To speed improvement, I typically recommend strict daily sunscreen, and once the skin has healed, adding a topical lightening agent such as azelaic acid or a mild retinoid. These help the pigment clear faster. If discoloration is still noticeable after several months, treatments like prescription lighteners or in‑office procedures (chemical peels or laser) can help.

The good news is that in most cases this does improve significantly with time, though it may take a few months for full blending.

I would begin with laser therapy as soon as possible which includes a fractional thulium laser that we perform in our office. Pulsed dye laser will also help the color and rubor. At home, I would use a combination of two creams that we use in our office, including Plato's Scar Serum and Melarase PM to help reduce the prominence of the scar. Mix them together and apply morning and night.
