I had Liposuction on bra rolls with my breast reduction, when will the pain start to ease?

Often times when I combine the two procedures the discomfort post op is due to the liposuction. Generally the liposuction swelling can lasts upwards of three months with the area becoming significantly less sensitive by about six weeks out. You are still very early on in your recovery being only 7 days post op. If you are concerned contact your plastic surgeons office and check in with them. 

Good Afternoon, thank you for your question. Pain and tenderness is expected in the post op period. Even when this varies patient to patient, this should subside in the next few weeks, however you should be aware that if you note any redness, increased local temperature or fever, you should contact your board certified surgeon. 

Bra rolls consist of highly fibrous fats; hence, it is not surprising that you experience more pain in the area due to the extra "effort" your surgeon used in order to remove them.  Furthermore, people tend to sleep on their back, which of course could lead to more postop swelling.

More often than not, this is normal and does not indicate poor healing or infection.  Nonetheless, you may visit your PS to allay your concern.
