Is it normal to have severe swelling after IPL treatment? (photo)

Had IPL treatment four days ago. Started prednisone pack the same day. Also received steroid shot yesterday. This is a photo today.

No, this is very much abnormal. My assumption is that you are allergic to a topical numbing cream that you used prior to treatment. This is the only time I have seen a reaction even remotely similar to this. It will resolve, but it will take time. "This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and

treatment with a trained medical professional for appropriate care."
