Is it normal to have severe swelling after IPL treatment? (photo)

Had IPL treatment four days ago. Started prednisone pack the same day. Also received steroid shot yesterday. This is a photo today.

Physiologically it does not seem likely that IPL treatments will make a rhinophyma worse as it is used to treat Rosacea, the cause of a Rhinophyma. On the other hand it is not strong enough to treat a rhinophyma due to the thickness of this process.

Hello SP.  What you have appears to be Melasma and treating it with light based options like IPL and other lasers often makes it worse.  The other problem with lasers or IPL is that they do not cure the condition.  We never recommend them because they cost more and do a worse job...
