I am considering breast augmentation with Polytech Microthane (polyurethane) implants and I am aware that they are a bit firmer in the first 8-10 months, however do they get equally soft as polytech mesmo silicone implants after this period or they are permanently firmer?I am putting 315cc high profile under the mascle, as I have little my tissue and did not have pregnancies yet. Do breasts with silicone implants put under the muscle move and behave more naturaly than with polyurethane imlants?
Answer: Implant type Dear QQR, breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals. Answer: Breast implants Polytech Microthane implants are a type of breast implant that have a polyurethane foam coating on their surface. This coating is intended to help the implant adhere to the surrounding tissue and reduce the risk of implant rotation or displacement. In general, polyurethane implants can feel firmer than silicone implants in the first few months after surgery. However, over time, they should become softer and more natural feeling. The exact timeline for this process can vary from person to person. Breasts with silicone implants placed under the muscle may move and behave more naturally than those with polyurethane implants, as the implant is partially covered by the patient's own muscle tissue. However, this can also depend on factors such as the size and shape of the implant, the amount of existing breast tissue, and the surgical technique used. It is important to discuss your goals and concerns with your plastic surgeon before deciding on a specific type of breast implant. Your surgeon can provide guidance on the pros and cons of different implant types and placement options based on your individual anatomy and desired outcome. I hope this helps, best of luck !
