I got Botox-treatments approximately twice a year for the last 4 years around the eyes and on the forehead. The last treatment was 4 months ago. More and more I notice that the veins on my temples are bigger and swollen! I can even see a swollen veign on my forehead. Could this be a side effect of Botox??

Answer: Veins on temples Thank you for your question. You have been getting Botox for a long time without complication. It probably has nothing to do with Botox but probably with aging. The appearance of veins on the face and in other areas on the body is normal as we age. This has nothing to do with Botox treatment. Please see your physician for further assessment. Best of luck

Answer: Botox side effects? After 15 years of injecting Botox into the forehead and around the eyes, I can say with confidence that Botox injections have not been found to cause prominent veins in the area. More likely is the phenomenon of loss of collagen and underlying muscle in the area from aging causing the veins to be more visible and prominent as a result. You should still be able to continue your Botox to reduce wrinkles without worrying about vein distention as a side effect.
