What is my Fitzpatrick Skin Type? Types 1-6? I would like to use laser skin lightening treatments to even out my complexion. I don't know what my complexion color or skin color and tone is. Is it safe to use laser treatments on my face, based on my natural skin color? What is my Skin Color and what is my Fitzpatrick Skin Type, based on my skin color and tone, based on the pictures provided? Please answer.

Answer: Laser Treatments for darker skin types Thank you for your photos. Fitzpatrick skin typing is actually determined by answering a list of questions to create the score. From your photo, it appears that definitely you have a darker skin type, such as Type 6 or possibly 5, depending on your score from the Fitzpatrick Skin typing test. There are some lasers that can be used on darker skin types, but many lasers could actually cause burns or other complications so you will need to find a physician who is very experienced in dealing with skin of color. I would suggest that you seek consultaton with a physician who is experienced in working with darker skin types, who can help to properly assess your skin and advise you as to the best and safest ways to improve your facial appearance.
