Will laser hair removal to breast and nipples damage nerves associated with arousal?

If the laser damages the hair follicles, does it damage nerves attached or around the area that respond to touch or arousal? Also, does the heat from the laser cause the tissue to scar around Breast implants as a reaction?

Thank you for your question. Many men and women alike get laser hair removal to treat unwanted hair on the chest, breasts or areolas. Treatments should have no affect on the surrounding nerves and should not affect your sensitivity. Keep in mind that the treated area may be sensitive, pink or swollen for up to several days after your treatments, but this should be no cause for concern about a loss of sensitivity. Good luck!

No laser hair removal should not affect either you sensation nor your breast implant.  You may proceed without concern provided the laser operator is careful not to cause a burn.

The lasers used for hair removal target the melanin in the hair follicle-therefore there should be no effect on the nerves in this area.  The heat from the laser should not cause any effect on the tissue around the breast implants as the tissue around the breast implants  is much deeper than the area targeted when doing hair removal.

The lasers on the breast tissue should have no effect on either the sensitivity or the implants. The laser penetrate the skin about a millimeter or 2 (very shallow) when doing hair removal.

Laser hair removal should not damage sensory nerves anywhere in the body. The laser light is absorbed by melanin in the hair present within the follicle.  I have never had a patient with a complication like the one you are concerned about.
