Is it OK to wear a Cesare Ragazzi CNC hair system while suffering from lichen planopilaris or it could worsen the condition?

It's a great question. There are quite a few factors that go into deciding what type of hair system is appropriate for someone with LPP. The main factor when I am meeting with a patient trying to decide what type of system to purchase at the local salon is the following: How active is the LPP right now? How often do I as the doctor need to look at the scalp in the future (weekly? monthly? every 6 months?) Does the patient need "steroid injections" as part of our management strategy? These are the discussions you will want to have with your dermatologist. If topical steroids are needed daily and steroid injections are needed monthly for example (for very active disease) use of a hair system with an adhesive is less preferred over clips. But these are discussions I usually have with the wig salon myself (with the patient's permission).

You need to speak with your doctor about wearing such a hair system. The question will be: Will the attachment make your situation worse?
