Mature hairline or balding? (photos)

Thank you for submitting your photos. You appear to be receding back farther than what would be considered a "mature hairline". At the age of 27 there are multiple factors causing this. These factors could range from the products you are using, your genetics, supplements you might be taking, and of course testosterone derived hormones causing the hair loss. Since hair loss is caused by a number of variables there is no one treatment option. Rather, a combination of treatment options is often necessary. These options include special shampoos and conditioners, supplements, red/IR light therapy, medications such as minoxidil and finasteride, PRP injections, and even hair transplantation to the areas of hair loss to restore your frontal hairline. lotr17,It does look like you have always had a high hair line with a larger forehead, which worked well for you framing your face nicely. However, there does appear to be some Male pattern hair loss developing. Presently, it is a Norwood III with some Temple point recession. The loss looks a little deeper than what would be expected of a maturing hairline, plus 27 is a little late (but certainly not unheard of) to have a maturing hairline rather than regular MPB. An in-person examination could give you a more definitive answer but you're probably seeing the start of the balding process. Good luck.

I'd recommend switching to organic products for your shampoo and conditioner, and to look in to preventative medications like Finasteride and Minoxidil which has been proven to halt and even reverse hair loss. Before starting any medications it is best to check with your physician.

Hello, Lotr17What I see is a lot of hair thinning. Male hairline tends to go back in the temples and it can be controlled by using non surgical treatments such as PRP, Laser Therapy, Rogaine or Propecia. PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is one great option to take care of your hair. In order to regain your hairline it will be necessary to have a Hair Transplant. Just keep in mind that to reduce the speed of hair loss it is necessary to keep your non-surgical treatment for life. This way you can hold on to your native hair and  have a successful hair restoration experience.Best of lucks!

You should seek a consultation with a hair restoration specialist. There are a number of treatments available to preserve and to some extent restore your hair without surgery including minoxidil (Rogaine), finasteride (Propecia), platelet rich plasma (PRP), and low level laser therapy (LLLT). Yes, it does look like you are balding as your frontal hairline is distinctly receded.  A hair transplant can restore it. If you pulled back your hair and your eyebrows are lifted high so that your forehead creases, the proper place of the hair line is one finger breadth above the highest crease
