Since no downtime is needed, you can immediately return to work and other activities as soon as your treatment is complete
Thanks for the question. There is truly no downtime with moxi laser. As a facial plastic surgeon, I have had the laser over the noon hour and then continued with clinic in the afternoon. The 1927 wavelength penetrates into the upper layers of the skin, but leaves them intact so no additional “wound care” is required like with CO2 or Erbium laser resurfacing. It is safe for all skin types, including skin of color, and is safe to use along with a comprehensive treatment regimen for melasma. Complete healing occurs over 3-7 days, but is a breeze. Initially, the skin is slightly red. It starts to feel rough like sandpaper, then the “MENDs” flake off and the skin is ultra smooth. It is perfect for “prejuvenation” of skin with little damage to help preserve a fresh appearance, and can be used to correct mild lines, wrinkles, and reduce discoloration. Best wishes, Daniel Givens MD FACS
One may return to work right away! Moxi is considered a non ablative laser procedure with no downtime. Occasionally there can be some swelling in some patients for 1-2 days although nothing that a little makeup can't fix. For the next five days, one can expect roughness and hyperpigmentations on the treated skin, eventually they will flake off and reveal a fresh layer of skin.
