I don’t really like my smile, what needs to be done to fix it? (photo)

I am a woman in my twenties, and I have confidence issues due to my smile. I always smile with a closed mouth because I don’t like the way it looks otherwise. I can’t really pinpoint what it is about my smile that I don’t like, I just don’t feel that it looks attractive. I am wanting to fix this in order to improve my confidence, but I don’t know what needs to be done to improve it. I would really appreciate any input. The 1st photo is my natural smile & the 2nd is a “say cheese” smile. Thanks!!

You have a very small maxilla, a smile that shows 6 teeth only and dark buccal corridors.  Ideally you should have been expanded prior to 8 year old.As an adult I suggest looking into the DNA Appliance to expand your maxilla and create a full wide healthy looking smile and eliminates dark buccal corridors.This will give better lip support and decrease deep nasolabial folds.

HI:The main issue I see with your smile is the narrow arch whereby only six front teeth shows.  One option would be to bet porcelain veneers on your upper teeth to widen the smile and make the teeth whiter as well.  Another option could be to whiten your front teeth and get 2 veneers on each side to widen your smile.Best,Dr. Maddahi
