Hair line worse 8 months after Finasteride is it too late?

Question

22 yr old male, Ive been on 1mg finasteride since the past october, my shedding amount has not really changed, i have increase of diffuse thinning on my temples. Ive been taking a daily vitamin and have added biotin recently to see if I can get some more results. Is it too late? Am I just not responding to the medication? My PA said give it a year and then in a return visit my dermatologist says that I should have responded by now and then said i should get FUE and renewed my fin prescription.

Most experts worldwide would say you’re too young for hair transplants. I don’t know the cause of your hair loss as I don’t know your story and have not seen photos. There is a small chance you are a finasteride non responder but make sure you and your doctors are not confusing balding for maturation of the hairline. If you have other diagnoses (like seborrheic dermatitis or telogen effluvium) treat these aggressively. You are probably not yet a good candidate for surgery. Get tonnes of advice on this from experts.

A series of monthly injections (plus maintenance treatments approximately every 6 months after) should boost your hair.  It will lessen shedding and help you to regrow your hair naturally. Any treatment you do in relation to hair takes about 3 months to show any form of results.If your dermatologist has not found any condition then should you consult a hair specialist to better assess what your options are. Using finasteride is a great first stop to counter attacking hair loss.
