5ft4, 62kg, normal BMI suitability for gastric sleeve?

Question

I was 5FT 4 &55 KG. I eat a healthy mostly mediterannean diet but I easily gain weight owing to the calorie dense food eg olive oil, nuts, cheese etc. I have become accustomed to eating large portions and am gaining weight . Unfortunately steamed veg does not satiate me the way sautéed veg does. I would like to have sleeve procedure as preventative measure as I am unable to contain my portion size . Currently 62 kg

Hello there. If your BMI (body mass index) is above 30, then we can do the surgery. However, yours is 23.3 which means very normal and healthy at that point. I recommend you to do good diet and exercise.

Actually the mentioned BMI makes you unsuitable for gastric sleeve. The sleeve procedure is indicated for those more than 30 with comorbidities or above 35 with no diseases according yo recent guidelines
