The tip of my nose does not seem to fit with the rest of my face. It is very rounded, droopy and my nostrils are a little too big for my preference. I also have an indent in the center of my tip.
Answer: Consult with a board certified surgeon regarding nasal reshaping I believe you are candidate for nasal tip reshaping for the goal of refining the nasal tip with tip narrowing maneuvers, improving the cleft (or indent) of the nasal tip and projecting the nasal tip forward and upward slightly to support the nasal tip. This will need small amounts of cartilage for grafting. In regards to the nostrils, it is possible to bring nostrils inwards, but the width is often improved by projecting the tip and I would recommend you consult with your surgeon to discuss this once a proper physical examination is performed. Please consult with a board certified facial plastic and/or plastic surgeon. Good luck.

Answer: Is it possible to just correct the tip of my nose without touching the nasal bone? How much would that procedure cost? The tip and nostrils can be improved or refined. However, it is important to maintain nasal balance as a whole.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Is it possible to just correct the tip of my nose without touching the nasal bone? Improving the nostril width and refining a flaring bulbous tip are frequent requests of patients wanting nasal refinement. It is possible to improve the cosmetic appearance of the tip alone without altering the rest of the nose in some patients. Whether the optimal option in your particular situation would be a tip rhinoplasty alone or a full rhinoplasty would best be determined at a consultation. Either procedure can be performed with a closed or open approach. Following the advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to do based on limited 2 dimensional photos without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussing the pros and cons of the operative procedure would not be in your best interest. I would suggest you find a plastic surgeon with extensive nasal surgery experience who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) or a facial plastic surgeon (ENT) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Fees vary depending on the extent of the procedure, location of the surgical practice, and experience as well as the reputation of the surgeon. The length of the procedure, cost, and the specific operative steps to achieve an ideal cosmetic result vary from patient to patient and would depend on the findings at your consultation examination. Answer: Tip Plasty Hello. Your request to modify the nasal tip is reasonable. Please understand that additional maneuvers may be necessary to give the new tip "balance" and present an overall aesthetically pleasing nose. You may wish to consult with a surgeon and review your concerns; studying the surgeon's before and after photos of patients with issues similar to yours may assist in the decision making process. Hope this is helpful. Best wishes to you. Dr. Shah

Answer: Tip only I find more patients choosing tip only surgery over the years. It is perfectly reasonable but the surgeon must have a clear plan to match that tip with the large bridge. It can be done, camouflaging the separation of the tip cartilages and with limited reduction but it takes a measured hand. I would suggest addressing what the financial arrangement would be if you later wished to change the boney portion of your nose. This will avoid misunderstandings in the future.
