Is IPL the gold standard for small spider angiomas on face, or are there better options?

I have a small spider angioma on my face that nearly faded away following two sessions of IPL [Ellipse], the last one of which was about a month ago. However, I've noticed another one that has formed elsewhere on my face, and the one that I thought had responded well to the IPL seems to be reforming ever so slightly. Should I go in for more IPL, or is there a better treatment option I should pursue?

Hi jmr561,Thank you for your question. There are actually quite a few effective treatments for spider angiomas, but but no matter the treatment used, some angiomas will require several sessions for maximum improvement. Angiomas can also come back over time (at which point you can re-treat them). That said, I have generally found that Vbeam and YAG lasers work best for deeper, more stubborn angiomas. I might try one of those to specifically target your angiomas. Best of luck!

IPL, pulsed dye, KTP or certain YAG lasers can all effectively treat spider angiomas.  Several treatments may be necessary and treating one angioma cannot prevent others from developing.
