Adverse reaction to Vanquish. Afraid to have 3rd treatment. Downtime is real.

Question

I received my second treatment of Vanquish and worked out at gym afterwards. The next day, I experienced swelling, stomach soreness, shooting sharp pain to rt lower side od abdomen, pins and needle hypersensitive sensation over while stomach area. I called my doctor and he said take Motrin and apply moist heat but made it feel worst. I called him after 5 days with no change and same symptoms and said to wait another week before next treatment and add ultrasound to aid in reducing soreness and swelling.

Adverse reactions to Vanquish that are lasting over 2 weeks are unusual but still occasionally reported.  It would be best to wait until all your side effects have resolved to undergo your next treatment.  Is always beneficial to give the body time to heal  to decrease chances of more adverse reactions developing.

This can happen with intense RF treatments and coolsculpting.  You need cellutone, z wave treatments and lumphatic massage.  I would wait 2-4 weeks before undergoing your next treatment. this means the treatment worked well.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Thank you for your question. The pain and lumps you are experiencing are due to cellular death of the fat cells. Patients will often complain of high heat in the areas during the treatment where this occurs. These can be minimized by acoustic wave therapy immediately following the Vanquish Me treatment. Unfortunately, not all offices are able to provide this service. Lymphatic massage would be helpful as well. I would wait for the pain and discomfort to dissipate before undergoing your next treatment. The good news is that the Vanquish is successfully destroying the fat cells.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.

Make sure to stay well hydrated and to drink at least 8 glasses of water every day.Your work-up may have added to your dehydration. Your symptoms will eventually disappear. Good luck
