Is Q switched laser good for fine hair? I am an Indian with fair skin.

Hi Aashima.  Q-switched lasers like the Helios are not designed for laser hair removal.  Laser technology is designed in such a way that the wavelength of the light and the time the laser flashes (pulse width) to optimize absorption in the target tissue.  Q-switched lasers are great for tattoos, birthmarks and sun spots, but they have too short of a pulse to be absorbed effectively in the hair.  For your skin type and fine hair, there are two possibilities, the Diode and Alexandrite.  We use the Diode for our Indian patients with finer hair because it is safer.  The alexandrite is a bit better for fine hair, but also has a greater risk of side effects with darker skin types.  Good luck and to read more about lasers for hair removal, click on the link below.  

I recommend you use laser such as the Diode, alexandrite and yag laser for optimal results.
