15 months post op hair transplant, not getting result on crown area. Advice? (photos)

I advise patients that on a graft for graft basis, the results in the crown vs those typically achieved in the frontal region are less than half as impressive.  There are many challenges in filling in the crown, due to the convex shape of the area, the "swirl" pattern, and perhaps a bit lower blood supply.  

Crown areas are the most difficult areas to cover. From one photo it shows no grafts placed in the crown, and the second photo shows sporadic grafting in the crown.  Other than a light "dusting" of hair, more hair is going to be needed to re-populate the crown.

Dear Abcsandy, and thank you for sharing your experience. I can suggest you to be patient, post-up results in the crown area show up a bit slower than front and mid scalp. It can improve up to 18 months post ht.

I always tell patients that their recourse is to speak with their surgeon if they are every disappointed in their hair transplant results. Good surgeons care about patient results and their satisfaction and it is their surgeons that set the expectations that are needed. The discussion with your surgeon is not and should not be confrontational. It should be a cordial meeting where you can discuss what you are seeing on your head and what expectations you had going into the surgery. Sometime, the results fall short and if is the case, try to find out why that happened and if you both communicated properly on the expectation issue.
