I had my tear troughs treated almost 2 years ago with filler. I believe this is the Tyndall effect as a result. Is that what this looks like to you? After reading about this and the persistence of the effect for possible years, I am considering having it removed.

It's a little tricky to tell based on these photos - the only one that really shows a lump is the first photo but beause it's a little blurry I can't really distinguish if this is due to fat vs filler vs something else. The smiling pic also can't really tell. It'd be best if you go eval with soemoen in person!

Based on your description and the timing of your filler treatment two years ago, it’s possible that the bluish discoloration you’re noticing in the tear trough area may represent the Tyndall effect, which can occur when hyaluronic acid filler is placed too superficially beneath the skin. This effect can persist for an extended period if the filler has not fully broken down.

If the discoloration is bothersome or persistent, dissolving the filler with hyaluronidase may be an appropriate option. This enzyme safely breaks down the filler material and typically results in improvement within a few days.

I recommend that you consult with a qualified injector or dermatologist who has experience with tear trough corrections to evaluate the area in person before proceeding with treatment.

Of the two post of photos the first is out of focus. The second has poor lighting, but can see the darkening TYNDALL effect. But it is too late to dissolve after two years. Most likely the product is no longer present? You do not state exact product injected? Best of virtual concert with. Might try and laser to the area to help with color effect and possible nano grafting. Expect fees to range from $3000-$5000. Again, best of virtual consult with.

That is exactly what it is, the blue hue which is created by a hyaluronic acid filler. I have been using hyaluronic acid fillers for over 30 years and I don’t recommend having the filler injected in a chair troughs in practically anyone because sooner or later, they will have a lower eyelet bag like you have and the blue hue. My recommendation is not to rush with dissolving all of it, but instead have smaller amounts of hyaluronidase injected at two week intervals.
