I typically recommend to all my patients that they avoid sitting directly on their butt for a total of 8 weeks. You should discuss this with your plastic surgeon. 

    Fat necrosis can be a complication that is not immediately apparent as well as contour deformity requiring corrective surgery.  The risk for this is very small in the hands of an expert.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
