Are these large pores on my cheeks or indents and what could be causing it? (Photos)

Hello Lunna. Many patients describe small acne scars as large pores and it appears that this may be the case in your situation. There is some uneven texture at either side of the mouth and above that on the cheeks. Did you have acne in these areas?

In your case we would offer fractional resurfacing to even out the texture of the skin. Fractional resurfacing removes acne scar tissue and during the healing process, it is replaced with new, soft collagen, which works to smooth the surface of the skin. usually a couple treatments is best.

Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery.

A combination approach will give the most improvement. I recommend lasers, microneedling/PRP, Cosmelan, peels and skin care. I suggest getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

It looks like you have uneven texture.  This can be easily treated with some exfoliating treatments.  I would recommend either a chemical peel or microneedling.

For uneven texture issues I would recommend a good medical grade skincare regimen, a series of chemical peels, laser treatment, and regular facials to keep the pores clear. I would highly recommend consulting a cosmetic dermatologist and/or experienced licensed esthetician.
