Congratulations on completing your surgery. I usually recommend my patients wear theircompression socks until they are mobile. So, if you are walking around a good amount, then you do not have towear them. I hope this helps.
Compression socks? Ask your surgeon how long their protocol is to wearing compression socks. Compression garments are usually worn for 4-6 weeks, however check with your surgeon. Sitting? What doctors suggest is being cautious about physical activity and avoiding working out the affected regions for at least two week period of time. Furthermore, extended periods of sitting on the buttock should be avoided. Many patients place a pillow or a boppy pillow underneath their buttocks to alleviate pressure. First, ask your doctor is a special pillow can be used so that you can sit. Most patients should be able to lie on their stomach. I do not usually have my patients wear compression socks for any length of time.
