Hi. There should be no difference in SAL or PAL. All lipo techniques should be done with tumescent fluid. This is usually normal saline mixed with epinephrine to reduce the amount of bleeding/bruising which occurs. Lipo becomes slightly more expensive is ultrasonic liposuction performed with the Vaser. Use of the Vaser is less traumatic than traditional methods and allows for greater skin retraction than others. I encourage you to look at this possibility. Vaser liposuction is not performed by all surgeons and if you choose this method make sure the surgeon has years of experience. We recently had one of the leading national and international authority join our institute. I wish you all the best on your journey. Good luck, Dr. PG
We do multiples types of liposuction in our office. There is no difference in price between the two. In traditional lipo, the surgeon hold the canula and moves it hand. With power assisted liposuction (PAL) the canula is connected to a motor. Most people charge a little more if they are using a lasrt, like smart lipo, or ultrasound to the procedure.
All liposuction is done using a tumescent approach (IE fluid that fills the area prior to liposuction). Some people do it awake and others asleep. Hi definition contouring is much different as this is a technique to sculp and define the body and create permanent indentations over muscular areas. Using lasers and ultrasound allow people to get a better result and more skin tightening if this is done properly. Best, Dr. Emer
Hello dear, thanks for your question and provided information as well.. This is the surgical procedure that revolutionized cosmetic surgery becoming one of the most performed cosmetic procedures. Subcutaneous tissue or fat is removed in order to contour the body in a way that is harmonious and pleasing to the senses. It can be performed in almost all regions of the body such as the neck, chin, abdomen, back, buttocks, thighs, arms and ankles. Usually done through a small incision in the skin through which a cannula connected to a vacuum is applied, it can be performed alone or in combination with other procedures. After liposuction your body is going to be really swollen for at least 2 to 4 months after your surgery. It is important for you to wear your compression garment for at least 6 months, the first 3 months 24/7 and then the last 3 months at least 12 hours per day for your body get use to not having the faja for so many time. When you remove it, your body can get swollen and also you can have pain. Remember to also compress your body to prevent a seroma which is an accumulation of liquid that has to be drained, it is hard to touch and also really painful. Bruises are completely normal for almost 3 months from surgery, that’s why is better for you to use a bruising cream and apply it all over your body 3 times a day. To prevent bad circulation and swollen legs, use compression socks. Brazilian butt lift can be performed with the same procedure and for a month it will be swollen and it will drop a little bit without losing it’s shape if you use your garment.. If you’re going to perform liposuction on your inner, outer, anterior, lateral, postetior thighs, be careful and consult with your surgeon what’s best for you, sometimes we have more extra skin than fat, that can cause severe sagginess on our legs, which can be only be reversed performing a thigh lift!
The cost should be the same. After your consultation with a board certified PS, you should be given am itemized breakdown of the cost of your procedure.Good luck!
PAL makes the work of liposuction a bit less strenuous for the plastic surgeon but IMO doesn't alter the quality of the outcome. Prices should be comparable. Most important in selecting a doctor is the quality of his/her reputation, photos of other patients, bedside manner and how comfortable you feel entrusting yourself to the individual. the cost of traditional liposuction and power assisted liposuction ( PAL) should be the same. Both procedures use tumescence. The issue is whether the facility has a PAL hand piece. PAL is a technique which allows the hand piece to do most of the work. The results are good with either technique. Make sure you use a board certified plastic surgeon for either procedure.

I actually think it is rather laughable that you pose this question on this forum. The thought that a diagnosed mental disorder would make it medically indicated to have cosmetic surgery is very far fetched and I am sure would not even be entertained by an insurance company. Furthermore, no ...
