Hi, thank you for sharing your question. Based on this photo, it’s unlikely that you will need a FDL. If your BMI is less than 32, you may be a candidate for a full TT.
Since you have a scar in the area where the fleur de lis incision will be, I would recommend the fleur de lis in this case.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
The main issue if your abdomen is the visceral fat which make you look protruding and no procedure will make you look flat. It will be imperative to lose weight until you reach BMI 27-28 and then most likely you will be candidate for a Tummy tuck to remove the saggy skin hanging and the Fleur de Lis will remove the excess of width and taking advantage the vertical scar you already have. You will be candidate as well to do Muscle repair to create a flat abdomen and smaller waistline, mons lift and reduction. In the next future a breast lift and reduction will help to create balance and smaller upper body. Be encouraged. Dr. Cárdenas
I appreciate your concerns but it does not appear that you need a Fleur de Lis Tummytuck to accomplish your goal of optimal Tummytuck result. Traditional Tummytuck with extension of the incision slightly will allow removal of redundant skin of your abdomen and flank regions and this would avoid the vertical scar that would be left after a fleur-de-lis Tummytuck. Come see me or another board-certified plastic surgeon in our area to explore the best options for you. Good luck.
Dear SnatchThis, based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Flanks liposuction would give you a better shape. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
I’m always surprised with how many questions I get about the fleur de lis tummy tuck. I’ve never needed to do one. The scar is not worth the small amount of additional skin that is removed, and there can be healing problems. You will do fine with a standard tummy tuck
Thank you so much for your question, based on your pictures I will not recommend you a FDL tummy tuck due to you do not have too much extra skin in order to do this tummy tuck technique, a Full tummy tuck will give you good results with a combination of liposuction in your sides if you also are looking for more curves in your waist area. FDL tummy tuck procedure is perform to patient with excess extra skin after weight loss surgery or after loosing a lot of weight natural and wants to get rid of the extra skin but in your case is not necessary, you have a good foundation for a normal one. Hope this helps. Dr. Quiroz
You already have a vertical scar, so the fleur de lis tummy tuck would work well to help pulled your abdomen in as well as remove the excess inferiorly. However, just based on your one photo, the regular tuck would still do quite a lot for you.
Given the prominent central abdominal scar, a fleur-de-lis, abdominal plasty would make a lot of sense, and would excised tissue both vertically, and will excised the pre-existing scar to make it thinner and more aesthetically appealing
An in person evaluation is needed to determine what approach is best for you. A fleur de lis tummy tuck is for patients who have loose skin on the upper abdomen that would not be appropriately addressed through a standard tummy tuck. I've included a video describing the various approaches that I hope you find helpful.

Hello, the tightest result would be achieved by fleur-de-lis technique but I would recommend a standard abdominoplasty with an extended scar to the sides which will be completely hidden under the bikini. This is a good option without having a vertial scar. I didnt feel that I need to make a...
