Can Dermaroller help with ear piercing scars?

I have old (normal) ear piercing scars that I don't want to keep, they get irritated easily and some of them healed well and closed completely but some stayed worse and are probably only partially closed. I just bought a Dermaroller on other scars but I was thinking if it could help with my ear piercing scars too. I'd like to know if it would help them close completely and make them less visible, or is surgical procedure needed to close the holes first? Thanks!
