Very confused about the size and frequency of use of Dermaroller for face treatment. I am trying to treat minor acne scarring and pock-mark on chin and surgical scars on forehead. Have been using 0.25mm but without success. Droller chart says 1.0mm for acne scars and 2.5mm for deep scars but some sites say max 0.5 mm on face?

Depending on the depth of your scar, you may need 3-5 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart.  I highly recommend having a professional do it for you because the depth of needle that you would need to make a significant improvement requires facial numbing.

At home use is safe up 0.75mm.  You don't want to use a roller that will cause bleeding at home.  The smaller needles will create channels so that products can penetrate better. If scars are deep you probably need medical microneedling with numbing before the procedure which can cause some bleeding and redness for 24-48 hours.  The beauty of medical microneedling is that it breaks up scar tissue (wrinkles are essentially scars in the skin) and induces new collagen formation at the same time.  We use topical treatments with the medical microneedling to get the best results.
