Fillers can be used to sharpen the appearance of a relatively flat and broad nose. The results generally last about a year. In terms of risk, the common ones are swelling and bruising after the procedure, but there is a risk of tissue death due to compression or injection into blood vessels especially when treating the root of the nose. For this reason, careful technique is critical.
Hello and thanks for your question. The best HA filler, in my opinion, is vollure. Vollure lasts typically 10months+ for patients. Vollure is the perfect thickness for this area. Not too thick and not to thin. There is always the chance of getting a bruise and swelling after, so plan accordingly. If you were to be unhappy with your filler, it can be dissolved. Be sure you go to a board certified, experienced cosmetic doctor. Be clear with your expectations and concerns. Hope this helps!!
Fillers use to shape the nose can improve the appearance of the nose. The nasal tip definition is most accurately achieved with a surgical procedure to carefully sculpt the tissue in a reliable fashion. However, some patients can improve some tip appearance (e.g bifid tip) with a filler.
"Non-surgical rhinoplasty" has gotten a lot of press in the last few years. The concept sounds great: get a nose job during an office visit and go right back to work. No down time, no recovery, no bruising, no pain!!!Well, don't be surprised, but injection of fillers into the nose can only help in very few cases. Injecting fillers can make a bump on the dorsum appear smoother. This is because the shoulders of the bump are made higher. This will in effect make the nose bigger. However, in the right patient this will make the nose more appealing.Filler injections WON'T make the tip of the nose more defined. They won't make the nose narrower or smaller. They CAN be useful in hiding any asymmetry or depressions of the nose following a rhinoplasty. So, don't fall for the headlines or gimmicks. Do your investigation, and look at pre and post injection results to convince yourself if "non-surgical rhinoplasty" is right for you.
Fillers of any kind can be used to change the nasal shape. A "hump" can be smoothened, a bulbous tip can be sharpened, etc. There are many fillers that can be used for this purpose. The most commonly used filler is Radiesse. The second is a hyaluronic acid, like Juvederm Ultra Plus. I typically use Radiesse for this purpose. Radiesse is actually calcium hydroxyapatite (a bone-like substance) that does a very good job for nasal shape correction. It can last anywhere from 1 to 1 1/2 years. The side effects are allergic reactions to the product, unevenness of the result, visible product through the skin. Speak to your doctor about your contour and see what is right for you. Good luck, Yuubi.
