Fibroadenoma removal. Can i get breast surgery as my breast is now deformed?

I had my operation on 16th april 2014, it didnt look to bad to start off with but since it is healing i now have a dent at the side of my breast, i have suffered depression before with the size of my breasts but now i cant get undressed infront of my partner of 10years due to having a deformed breast, can my consultant who did the procesure re shape my breast free of charge as i didnt get told that this could happen thankyou

Although it has only been 2 months since your fibroadenoma excision and you likely still have swelling that needs to resolve, it is not too early to consult with a plastic surgeon to discuss options for revision.  I would recommend having a board certified plastic surgeon perform any revision surgery that you may need. Good luck!

It is still quite early after your surgery and I expect you are still healing. Thing should continue to change, improve, and soften generally with time so I would wait another few months before realistically considering any intervention.  It is very difficult to say what can/should be done without photos.  I suspect that your surgery was performed by a general/breast surgeon so they may not be able to help you with managing your concerns and I imagine they went through your health insurance? If it is through your insurance, you insurance may possible cover a revision to manage your concerns but you really need to speak to your surgeon and/or your insurance company to determine if this is possible.  Your surgeon will likely want to discuss your concerns with you.  No one but your surgeon can comment on the cost of any revisionary surgery or what was discussed as part of your informed consent.  As your surgeon may or may not have discussed, removal of any decent sized fibroadenoma or even a small one in small breasts can change the size somewhat and/or may leave a residual asymmetry and indentation.  There are options for managing the issue ranging from redistributing the native breast tissue and/or fat grafting procedures.  If your surgeon is not able to perform those procedures then you will need a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area in all likelihood since we perform those procedures on a regular basis.

Your fibroadenoma probably was removed by a general surgeon. For breast repair and breast augmentation you will need a plastic surgeon. This is out of pocket expense

When a mass is removed from the breast it often leaves a deformity, as the tumor occupies space in the breast. You should wait a few weeks for the breast to reshape, then have your breast evaluated by a plastic surgeon. Depending on your insurance it might be covered, as a breast deformity, but most likely it will not be covered and considered cosmetic.
