It's a good question. It's always best to direct specific postoperative questions to your surgeon. They will give you exact recommendations.In my office patients are allowed to shower the day after surgery.

I do recommend speaking with your surgeon directly so you can learn more about their specific recommendations for your surgery/aftercare. My patients can shower the next day. In the old days, we thought the shower increased the risk of infection but we discovered the more rapidly you shower and dilute the bacteria on your skin after surgery, the less chance of that bacteria affecting your wounds.
