I have sustained many injuries to my nose over the past 10 years. I have a large hump on the bridge of my nose that has built up over the years and also regularly get sinus infections. I have had a lot of trouble breathing through my right nostril most days but I can't breathe through it at all when my allergies flare up. I have very basic health insurance and I guess the biggest question is the cost of repairing my deviated septum and if the hump could also be removed during the procedure.

You would need to see a facial plastic surgeon to address your concerns.  Everything could likely be done in one surgery.  The cost would totally depend on your insurance, your area, and your doctor.   Reducing the hump on your nose is considered cosmetic and would involve a fee outside insurance. Make sure you see someone who is skilled in rhinoplasty.

It is best to seek out a double board certified ENT/facial plastic surgeon who can address functional as well as cosmetic components of your nose. A septoplasty is billed to the patient's medical insurance once preauthorization and medical necessity has been accomplished. Anticipate co-pays and deductibles applicable with your medical insurance.  When patients have chronic sinus infections, a CAT scan of the sinuses is required to determine what the cause is. Functional endoscopic sinus surgery is performed to remove polyps on the inside of the sinuses. This is also functional surgery. To change the external appearance of the nose is considered cosmetic rhinoplasty, and must be paid for by the patient. Both functional and cosmetic nasal surgery can be performed together when necessary under one anesthesia which allows one recovery period.
